Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Commission in collaboration with Sultanate Council holds an interactive meeting with prominent Islamic scholars, Imams and the coalition of Islamic Association in Sokoto. The meeting held on Monday at Sultan Palace aimed at sharing the ideas, knowledge, skills and experiences on how improve the activities of Zakat and Waqf in our dear State.
In his remark, the Executive Chairman of the Commission Muhammad Lawal Maidoki explained in vivid, the activities of the commission since its establishment, its mission and vision as well as the future target goals. In collorary, he further appeal to them to continue enlightening and educating the rich people in the State to pay their Zakat accordingly.
The participants of the meeting were also allowed to give their suggestions, observations as well as constructive criticism that would help in revamping the activities of Zakat in the State. The participants also made comments, suggestions and recommended the effort of the Executive Chairman and the entire staff of SOZECOM for working round the clock in ensuring smooth collection and distribution of Zakat and Waqf.
In his Remarks, His Eminence the Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar lll min, CFR thanked the scholars for honoring the invitation and urge them to always feel free to give out their suggestions, observation and recommendations that could help to find a remedy for arisen problems facing the muslim Ummah in the State. He further reiterated his satisfaction on the activities of Zakat and endowment commission in poverty alleviation through different programs executed in the State. (wzf)
